Hi Neil _your request wasnt in the questions answered daily part so I missed it by a few days but here we go
"1. I can convert a midi file to a cm2 file but it will only transfer a midi to the keyboard."
.cm2 is what the midi file comes once transferred inot internal user song memory or to smartmedia cards so youre doing it correctly if youve managed to see the midi ( actually now afer beng converted a .cm2 file ) in the user memory
"2. When I do transfer a midi to the keyboard And select it I can hear the midi song being played but there is no lighted keys."
Only the midi tracks that were on channel 4 and 3 will light up .
So if youre midi file used other midi channels of the 16 channels then you need to convert them to channel 4 or 3 ( Most midi files - band arrnagements would be arranged with e solo melody - voice part- on midi channel 4 if professionally made so in most cases this is not neccessary for band arrangements,
Also the pop songs on
casiosongs.com for piano arrange the right hand on channel 4 and left on channel 3.
Changing midi channels to track 4 and 3 before conversion can be done on the free sequencer program here on the forum which im uploading here soon and making screen shots of how this can be done . Commercially purchased midi sequencers like cakewalk will also do the job
Thanks Mike
